Advanced Training Credentials
- Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA*)
Through the Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers*
Owner, Michael Grier, BA, CPDT-KA was one of the first two professional trainers in Orange
County, CA to earn this credential.
In order to maintain this certification - all CPDT-KA's must earn 33 Advance Behavior Continuing
Education Units every two years.
Why Choose A (CPDT) Certified Pet Dog Trainer from CCPDT?
*CCPDT's testing / certification program currently is the
only nationally recognized independent certification process for dog trainers. Recertification
along with mandatory pre-approved CEUs is required every three years to maintain a CPDT designation.
There are many dog trainer schools that provide their own certification for their specific
programs, while other organizations offer take-home tests for "certification." However,
these tests are not monitored by an independent council, nor are the testing processes
standardized.
CCPDT's certification program is based on humane training practices and the latest scientific
knowledge related to canine behavior and training. Competence and continued growth in training
practices is promoted through the recertification of qualified professionals.
